If you're a living human being or even a half dead human you are probably aware of the fact that Disney now owns STAR WARS & is giving us a whole new multitude of film's to look forward to each & every year. Their schedule currently follows the format of a sequel trilogy film every two years (The Force Awakens 2015, & Episodes VIII & IX set for 2017 & 2019 releases) with a spin off or anthology film every year in between. This year's release is the highly anticipated Rogue One: A STAR WARS Story. After experiencing the excruciatingly short & yet exhilarating teaser preview to the right, we were treated to a teaser trailer so good not even a Rancor could stick their nose up at.

One scene in particular in the trailer caught the eye of quite a few fans. This is the 1 second scene that takes place between 1:18 & 1:19. It shows a cloaked figure kneeling before a Bacta Tank. For those who are unsure, a Bacta Tank is a cylindrical tank which contains bacta fluid. Bacta fluid holds extreme healing properties & is used to accelerate one's healing & treat major injuries. This tank allowed an individual to be submerged within the liquid for a prolonged amount of time & have their injuries taken care of. The first time we got a look at a Bacta Tank was in STAR WARS Episode V: The Empire Strike Back, after Luke was attacked by a viscous Wampa. Once Han comes along to his rescue, Luke is then brought back to the Rebel Echo base where is submerged in the liquid & forced to wear some weird, embarrassing intergalactic nappy in order to heal his wounds.
Many had speculated the tank in the Rogue One teaser to contain Supreme Leader Snoke of The Force Awakens. This theory isn't too far fetched as Snoke's appearance in The Force Awakens shows him as an old & extremely scarred & battle torn character. Considering the fact that Bacta Tanks are used to heal extreme wounds reminiscent of the scars covering Snoke's face, it would be a fair guess to assume that Rogue One could fill us in on some of Snoke's past & how he got these scars. However, this theory has recently been disproven by none other than Pablo Hidalgo himself.
As the creative Executive of the Lucasfilm story group & being tasked with the job of making sure everything in the new STAR WARS canon matches up in a cohesive & non-contradictory manner, Hidalgo is more than a valid source when it comes to information such as this. His statement on the subject can be seen below:

Whilst this answers some questions, it only raises more. If Snoke is not in the tank then who is? And who is this cloaked figure bowing down to him? A popular theory seems to be that the Bacta Tank contains none other than the dark lord of the Sith himself Lord Sideous, who is healing after his confrontation with Mace Windu & that the cloaked figure is a dark new character.
Who do you think is in the Bacta Tank? And who could this dark, cloaked figure be? Sound off in the comments section below or contact us on Twitter at @NerdGeekAwesome
