Welcome to Merch Monday, a new weekly segment of Nerdy, Geeky Awesomeness where we'll explore various pop culture possessions that you could have in your own homes!
Sonic Stress Ball
Sonic the Hedgehog may be a constant source of stress for ol' Egghead, but lucky for you he's here to do the opposite! No need to keep those negative emotions vented up, this super squishy hedgehog will send your worried thoughts rolling away at the speed of sound!
The Blue Blur is officially licensed by SEGA, being a part of Paladone's Sonic the Hedgehog range, & is available here.
Twilight Princess Figma Figures
The legendary toy company Figma have done it again with two amazing figures of Link & Zelda in their Twilight Princess appearances. The figures haven't been released yet but are still available for preorder which you can do here. The figures are gorgeously detailed, sporting perfect articulation, ensuring that they fill any room with a magical Hylian glow. Link even comes in a special DX version which includes an entire arsenal of TP weaponry for our Hero of Time to play around with. Nendoroid Colossal Titan & Attack Playset
Attack on Titan, yet another manga that has been adapted into a hit anime series in recent years. Every successful anime needs some chibi figures of it's stars & Attack on Titan is no exception. Enter Nendoroid, with their magnificent Colossal Titan & Attack Playset:
In the series the Colossal Titan is the dude who comes along & messes everything up, destroying the walls protecting mankind with one swift kick. This playset depicts the terrifying scene in which the Titan reigned terror upon the people of the Shiganshina District, including a base shaped like the wall & city itself. The set includes various houses to help complete the scene, as well as villagers to occupy the area. The Colossal Titan is not the only Titan attacking the District however, as three other Titans are included, the Titan that ate Carla, a 15-meter class Titan & a third secret Titan (though a quick Google search reveals this secret figure's identity). Both the Colossal Titan & Carla's killer have hinged mouths, allowing for some chomping action on all those villagers. Carla's killer & the 15-metre class Titan also have their appendages sculpted in a grasp which allows them to clamp teeny humans in their hands in true Titan fashion. The Colossal Titan even has an inter-changeable face plate, allowing you to switch between a classic Nendoroid style chibi face & a more series accurate expression of pure evil, adjusting the amount of the terror the poor civilians have to endure when encountering this colossal beast. The villagers are not alone however, as there are also highly trained soldiers included to defend the District.
The set is sadly no longer available on GoodSMILE.com, but can be purchased on alternative sites such as Ebay or Play-Asia.
White Pikmin Plush
With the recent announcement of a Pikmin 3DS title, there's no better time to expand upon (or start) your Pikmin collection! Pikmin are adorable & having plush versions of the tiny creatures populating your house is never a bad idea (well, almost never).
This little fella is an official Nintendo product & depicts one of the more recent members of the bunch, the white, red-eyed (& possibly albino?) Pikmin. A part of the World of Nintendo series, the flower clad plush comes in at 7.5 inches & can bought from Toys 'R' Us.
Rogue One Darth Vader POP!
Rogue One is now only a few months away (WHOO!), which means the merch is rolling in from all angles in order to continue milking the udders of this seemingly endless space opera. One of these items happens to be another STAR WARS POP!, depicting Darth Vader in his Rogue One appearance. The figure places ol' cybernetic Ani in his classic 'hands on belt' Vader stance, one that any fans of the Sith Lord will instantly recognise.
The figure has been confirmed for a retailer shipping date of October 7th, but can be pre-ordered on certain online stores such as Forbidden Planet.
Deadpool Travel Mug
Want to drink whilst out & about? Don't want to have your nicely consumable liquids spilt with a slight tap of the cup? Also want to show off to world that your a huge fan of the comic book antihero who suddenly became a mainstream movie-star with one hit film earlier this year?
